----- Disgruntled author's note: -----
This walkthrough was made mainly because one person e-mailed me about it after I
posted a message in the Sega newsgroups. I announced that I'm considering
writing an El-Hazard Sega Saturn FAQ and... I have to say that the response was
under- whelming. One person replied (thus, the sarcastic acronym NAQ), and I
sent that person a very early version. Ver. 1.0 only had some information
regading trouble spots in the game. Unfortunately, this game requires a good to
excellent understanding of the Japanese language to play. Since the person had
no understanding of Japanese whatsoever (at the time, anyway; I don't know about
now), I doubt the file I sent helped... but, I decided to write this one after
many months of not working on a better FAQ (more like NAQ). I kept getting
sidetracked by playing my other games on my Saturn. As an added bonus, the fact
that my old hard drive died on me (as a reuslt, I lost the version 1.0 FAQ)
didn't help any. At any rate, this should be a lot more helpful than Version
1.0.
I'm hoping that this NAQ will be read by more than two people (me, and the
person who asked for a walkthrough). When I bought the game from ncsx.com, they
apparently had more than one copy in stock because after I received my copy,
they updated their web page and they still had it in stock. When they updated
their web page again several weeks later, it was sold out - so at least one
person (maybe more) bought the game after I did. I'm hoping that this NAQ will
be read by other people who have the game, even if they played it and beat it.
FYI, this walkthrough will NOT translate all the lines in the El-Hazard Saturn
game. It will, however, help players with no understanding of Japanese
whatsoever play through the game... and beat it (I hope).
Whenever I say "you" and "Makoto" in a sentence, they mean the same thing in
this walkthrough.

----- Miscellaneous Info: -----
# of endings = 3 (Rune, Ifrita, Nanami endings)
An NEC PC-FX version of this game existed before the Saturn version. The Saturn
ported version is actually better than the PC-FX version. The PC-FX version had
a smaller screen with "borders" taking up the edges. It sort of looked like
playing a PC game using a window instead of playing it fullscreen. Pioneer
Japan's homepage used to have this info (it even bragged about how the Saturn
version is WAY better), but they updated their web page and removed all data
regaring this game. I used to have the info, but it was on my now defunct hard
drive...
Goodies/extra stuff that comes with the first (Saturn) printing:
1.) Limited edition box
2.) "Secret book" booklet

----- Walkthrough -----
----- Chapter 1 -----
After the opening Anime intro, start the game. You'll see a short movie with
Makoto and Nanami. From here, they'll have a long conversation. Mr. Fujisawa
will appear and converse with Maokoto & Nanami before you're required to make
any choices. If you don't give a rat's ass about listening to the Japanese
dialogue, just hold down the L button on your control pad and skip through this
portion. It's basically introducing the characters of this game (somewhat
pointless since I imagine the people who bought this game all bought it because
they liked the Anime and know who the characters all are).
Once you skip though, you'll be faced with three choices.
1 - Think about myself (Makoto)
2 - Think about Nanami
3 - Think about Mr. Fujisawa
The choices really don't matter. Choosing any one will give you background
information of the characters and what they like to do. Eventually, the choices
will disappear and you'll move on.
After the background information is discussed, Makoto will turn on his machine
and he will see an image of Rune Venus. Rune is looking for a savior to aid
El-Hazard, and thinks Makoto is him. (Explaining the logic would take up pages
of text. Anyone who saw the Anime would know why Rune thinks Makoto is the man
who will save El-Hazard... ^_^) Enter... Jinnai. As usual, he's being his
psychotic MFing self. Here, Makoto manages to convince Jinnai that he's been
practicing ventriloquism (throws his "Rune" voice). Rune gets upset (a
misunderstanding) because she felt that Makoto is not seriously concerned with
what she has to say. Makoto says that he is, and agrees to help Rune. He then
mentions how he can get to El-Hazard. Rune then teaches Makoto a prayer which
will allow him to perform a "miracle." Makoto repeats the prayer after Rune.
Makoto's machine flashes. Jinnai walks in again, thinking that Makoto is
plotting against him to unseat him as class president. He accuses Makoto of
performing a mysterious ceremony. Jinnai assaults Makoto. They fight, and they
cause the machine to give off intense light. At this point, Makoto, Jinnai,
Nanami, and Fujisawa are transported to El-Hazard.
Once in El-Hazard, Makoto is trying to find out what's going on.
1 - Look around
2 - See if someone is around
The choices don't really matter. They'll lead you to the same path. More
information and text. After you run out of choices, Makoto will run into Mr.
Fujisawa. They're now surrounded by Bugrom soldiers. FIGHT! (Wish this had a
fighting game aspect...) Fujisawa fights the bugs and eventually tires. Makoto
says, "Mommmmmmy!" Another flash of light. They are saved by a woman. Another CG
movie. Her name is Ishiel. After introducing themselves to one another, Makoto
asks Ishiel...
1 - About El-Hazard
2 - About the Bugrom
3 - About the girl (Rune) he saw in the science lab
More information. It doesn't matter what you choose. To move on, click until you
run out of choices. Ishiel will then help you find the "girl" Makoto saw in the
science lab. Cut to Nanami... [desert] Cut to Jinnai... Jinnai is introduced to
Diva by the Bugrom soldiers...
Save spot - a funny (kawaii) SD of Fujisawa and Katsuo doing...? ^_^ (It looks
like Fujisawa's quick-punching Katsuo...)
----- Chapter 2 -----
Makoto, Fujisawa, and Ishiel arrive at Floristica.
1 - Rest for today
2 - Do the best to find some clues
*If you choose 1, you will go to the local inn to rest up. Once Ishiel gets a
room, she'll also bring some booze. She and Fujisawa will start to drink like
mad. Morning will arrive and you'll be at the inn's pub/reception section.
1 - Speak
2 - Look around
3 - Move to another location
4 - Go back to the room to rest
At this point, choosing 4 is pointless, since it's early in the morning. Choose
1 to get some background info on what's going on in El-Hazard, 2 is obvious, and
3 is obvious if you want to leave the pub/inn and go exploring. Speaking to
people is very important in this game to activate events which will allow you to
progress to other sections of the game.
*If you choose 2 at point you arrived at Roshtaria, you'll end up at the
town square (the
place with a fountain).
1 - Speak
2 - Look around
3 - Move to another location
Once you choose "Move to another location," you'll be presented with a map of
Roshtaria drawn on Ura (the cat). The SD figure on the map is Makoto. The SD
figure in the upper- right corner box is Fujisawa. The box tells you who is
currently in your adventure party. Who you have in your party will be very
important later in the game. Once you're at the Ura map, the choices are:
1 - Go to Roshtaria Castle
2 - Go to the town square
3 - Go to the inn
4 - Go to the market
Visit everywhere. Talk to everyone. (There are pretty funny jokes about some
brat thinking Fujisawa is a kidnapper at the town square and a very cultural
Osaka dialect joke at the market...) The choices for 1, 2, and 3 for all the
places except for Roshtaria Castle are speak, look around, and move,
repectively. At Roshtaria Castle, it's 1 - Speak and 2 - Move.
After visiting everywhere and talking to everyone, go back to the inn. Choose
the 4th text line to rest up. Morning. Repeat the exploartion of the town. What
you want to do is to visit Roshtaria Castle every day and talk to the guard(s)
there. The first guard will think you're a weirdo, but he's not important.
You'll get to talk to two other guards, who give you some information about the
recent change in tactics by the Bugrom. You'll need to spend several nights at
the inn before you trigger an event that will let you move on.
Day 3: Visit the market and Makoto will see Ishiel. Ishiel will be surprised,
then say that she's in a hurry and will take off. Visit the castle and Ishiel
will be there as well. Go back to the inn. Rest up.
Day4: Ishiel will greet you in the morning. Go to Roshtaria Castle. There is a
gathering of Roshtarian troops. Rune Venus and Londs are watching over the
soldiers. Makoto sees Rune on the Terrace and attempts to go see her. He is
stopped by guards. After Makoto gets whooped, you'll end up back at the inn.
Ishiel will inform that the girl he saw is Her Royal Highness Rune Venus, the
most important person in all of Roshtaria. She suggests that if Makoto wants to
speak to Rune, there is a way to sneak into the castle.
Save spot - Well, it's funny. Just see for yourself. (All of these save spot SD
characters are...)
----- Chapter 3 -----
With Ishiel's "spell," Makoto and Fujisawa are made invisible and they manage to
sneak inside the castle. As you go further into the castle, you'll have to
choose between two paths.
1 - Go straight forward
2 - Go to the left corridor
You can't really die or make mistakes here, so just choose whatever you want to
choose. Go exploring. Eventually, Fujisawa will smell booze and run off on his
own. You'll get to see other characters saying a monologue or a having
conversation as you wander through the castle. The people you can see are Londs,
Galus, Schtalubaugh (that's how it's spelled on one of my Ani-mayhem cards)...
Eventually, Makoto will stumble upon a large door. Behind the door will be Rune.
She'll think of Makoto as some weirdo at first, but as he gets pissed off "You
asked me to come to El-Hazard and now you're telling me to get out..." At any
rate, Rune is eventually convinced (quickly) that Makoto is the "savior" that
she talked to originally. CG Anime movie. Londs will then come to the room.
Londs informs Rune that he has captured some slob in the kitchen. It's a
plastered Fujisawa. ^_^
Save spot - I can write, "Top ten signs Fujisawa is an alcoholic" =)
----- Chapter 4 -----
Makaoto sees Nanami in a dream. When he wakes up, he is in front of Rune. She'll
explain a few things, such as the Demon Goddess Ifrita, the advanced
technologies of the ancient El-Hazard civilization, etc.
1 - Ask about the demon goddess
2 - Ask about the Bugrom
You guessed it, it doesn't matter. More backfround info. Keep clicking until you
run out of choices. Rune will ask you to help her bring some peace to El-Hazard.
Rune wants Ifrita's tomb found - because with all of the chaos going on, she has
a "bad feeling" that Ifrita will be resurrected. She wants Makoto to find her,
and make sure she doesn't awake.
1 - OK
2 - No way
Choose 1. If you're feeling like dumbass, choose 2. After choosing 1, you'll get
to see The Eye of God. At any rate, Makoto and Fujisawa will be off to search
Ifrita's tomb.
Makoto and Fujisawa will now depart in search for Ifrita's tomb. Rune will try
to give Makoto a pendant/necklace. She wants Makoto to have it as a good luck
charm. Makoto asks what kind of a charm it is / what kind of luck it's supposed
to provide. Rune doesn't know for sure. Londs explains that the charm is
supposed to bring two lovers together.
1 - Take it
2 - Uh...
With either choice, you'll end up with the necklace. But.. note: there are 3
endings in the game. There are Rune, Nanami, and Ifrita endings. Depending on
how the female characters feel about you (Makoto), the ending of the game will
be different. (Can anyone say, "Sakura Taisen"?) You'll end up with the
necklace no matter what. You need to find a way to dump this necklace (which I
haven't figured out yet) if you want to get a non-Rune ending. Other- wise,
you're almost guaranteed a Rune ending once you beat the game.
Movie: Aleile is introduced as your guide. She will join your party.
Before you depart, Makoto wants to say a few words of thanks to Ishiel. Aleile's
lesbianism is revealed (but you already knew she's a lesbian from watching the
OAVs). Departure: Aleile doesn't know where Ifrita's tomb is. She's tagging
along because she was ordered by Rune to watch over Makoto. Back to the castle.
Rune and Londs mistakenly think that Makoto found the tomb and there is nothing
to worry about.
1 - Well, actually...
2 - There's nothing to worry about now
Your choice. ^_^ Conventional wisdom: Choose 1. Rune suggests seeking the aid of
the Four Priestesses. Aleile knows where each priestess lives. Once you get
this information, you'll be in a hallway and be given some choices as to where
to go.
1 - Palace hall
2 - Guest room
3 - Research lab
4 - Dungeon
5 - Sanctuary
6 - Kitchen
7 - Palace yard
8 - Town square
1 will take you to speak to Rune. Don't bother.
2 is your room, and there's no one there. (If you do go there, 1 - Talk,
2 - Go elsewhere)
3 will allow you to speak with Dr. S (I'm not spelling that out again)
and Galus. (1- talk, 2 - look, 3 - leave the room)
4 will be important later. You'll have only one choice if you visit now,
which is to leave.
5: You can enter or not enter. (1 - enter, 2 - don't) If you enter, Rune
will be inside. Once inside, you'll meet Rune. She'll explain that only those of the royal
family can open the door to the sanctuary. She suspects that Makoto's special power
is... ^_^ Makoto will then discuss the events that took place before he came to
El-Hazard. Rune says that she was frantic at the time. You reply...1 - Yeah, you
seemed frantic, 2 - Don't remember that event too well. It doesn't matter what you
choose. Eventually, Rune will discuss her ability to pull the trigger on "The Eye of God."
She'll then be disturbed by the fact that she has the power to destroy the world with
it. She's disturbed because she knows she'll be forced to use it on the Bugrom and
the Demon Goddess if she were to be resurrected. 1 - Cheer her up, 2 - Be
silent. You'll be back at the palace hall.
6... One choice: To leave. This place will be important later on.
7 won't do much good now. It will be important later. (1 - go inside the
castle, 2 - step outside; stepping outside will take you to the town square.)
8 is the same town square you became familiar with earlier.
Once you're outside the castle and see the Ura map, you'll be presented with a
choice that wasn't available before. The new (and last) choice is, "Go to the
world map." The world map is a place you can save your game and/or go to other
sections of El-Hazard.
Aleile will now be a key component in the game. She basically knows the ins and
outs of El-Hazard with the exception of Ifrita's tomb. Whenever you want to
visit a new area on the world map, you need to have her in your party. Once you
visit a certain place, you can visit that place again without Aleile in your
party.
Once you're in the world map, you'll see an SD figure of Makoto, Fujisawa and
Aleile in the box, Jinnai, and a Bugrom soldier. As the game progresses, you'll
see more and more bug soldiers covering the map. This indicates Jinnai's
conquest of El-Hazard. If you take too much time going from place to place
without finding Ifrita's tomb, Jinnai will conquer everything and... GAME
OVER!!!
Every place you visit has a distance, and the amount of time it takes you to get
there is determined by the "clock"on the upper-left corner of the screen. This
shows a sun at first. As you go to different areas of El-Hazard, the sun will
set and the moon will come out. That counts as one day. If you take too many
days looking for clues to find the tomb, well,
you get the idea.
1 - Go to the Temple of Wind
2 - Go to the Temple of Fire
3 - Go to the Temple of Water
4 - Go to the Spring of Arliman
5 - Go to the Hill of Holy Stones
6 - Save gave
(Notes: Once you visit an area and leave, you can't select to go to that area
since you're already there. At first, you can't go to Floristica since you're
already there. If you go to the wind temple and then leave, you can't revisit
the temple again until you visit another area. If you go to the wind temple and
leave, you can go back to Floristica since that will be one of the options
available. But, you won't see the Wind Temple as one of the places you can go to
if you're already there.)
Go to the water temple. Watch Fujisawa kick ass. Movie file. Miz Mishtal.
(Pioneer spells is Miz, but it sounds more like, "Meeze." =P At any rate,
"mizu" is water in Japanese, so take a guess as to why her name is "Meeze"...
^_^) She doesn't know where Ifrita's Tomb is. You'll be back at the world map.
Now, you'll have the option to go to Floristica (Capital city: Roshtaria). Don't
bother.
1 - Go to the capital of Floristica
2 - Wind
3 - Fire
4 - same as above's 4
5 - same as above's 5
6 - same as above's 6
Go to the fire temple. Movie file. Shayla Shayla. You'll soon be confronted by
Jinnai and a horde of Bugrom soldiers outside. Watch Shayla kick ass. Fried?
bugs, anyone? Shayla doesn't know where the tomb is.
1 - Go to the capital of Floristica
2 - Wind
3 - Water
4 - same as above's 4
5 - same as above's 5
6 - same as above's 6
Go to the wind temple. You'll be presented with 3 choices.
1 - Talk
2 - See
3 - Move to another location
1 and 2 will give you some info. Choose 3 and you'll get 2 more choices.
1 - Go inside the temple
2 - Leave (this will take you to the world map)
Choose 1, and no one will be there. You'll be outside the temple again. You'll
be presented the same 3 choices above. Choose 3, then 1 again. You'll get to see
a trashed room. Movie file. Afura Mann (Pioneer spells it that way; sounds more
like Maan, but hey - I didn't translate the series...) will appear. Afura will
think that Makoto trashed her room and refuses to help you. She also thinks that
you have the "Crystal of the Blue Sky." (You don't, since you're not a crook.)
You'll have to go after Jinnai, since he's the one that trashed the place and
stole the crystal. She says to hand it over, or else. RETREAT (automatic)!
As for the choices of places to go, you should get the idea by now. If you go to
the Hill of Holy Stones, the Priestess of the Earth will not be there. She is
only there at certain times of the year, and there are no more holy or religious
events planned for the rest of the year. 1 - Talk (there's no one to talk to), 2
- Look, 3 - Leave. Leave the area to go to the world map.
Once in a while, you'll get to hear Jinnai's psychotic laughs and ramblings.
Just for fun, go to the Spring of Arliman. Ordinarily, you'll only get to see
girls covered with bath towels. Depending on who or who isn't is in your party,
you'll get to see some video clips once in a while. There are video clips of Miz
taking a bath by herself, a bath scene with Afura and Shayla, and a bath scene
with Ishiel. In order to see Ishiel's bath scene, you can't have her in your
party. The same applies for Miz. (You can get these two in your party later in
the game.) You can't get Afura or Shayla in your party, so the conditions for
seeing their bath scene is a little more difficult. (Haven't figured out how to
get them all yet.) The bath scenes won't give you any gratuitous R-rated nudity,
so if you were looking for that.... you're better off buying a game with the
yellow "Over 18" logo on it. Just remember that if you want to go "adventuring"
and visit one place after another to find out how to get the bath scenes, Jinnai
will conquer a larger area of El-Hazard. If he conquers everything, the game
will be over, so if you see too many SD Bugrom on the screen, don't go to
Arliman until you finish the quest of finding the tomb.
Go back to Floristica. You'll be at the town square and you'll see Galus. After
he speaks to you and leaves, you'll be greeted by Ishiel. She'll talk about a
new popular restaurant in town. The restaurant is at the market.
1 - Talk
2 - Move
There's no point in speaking to anyone, so choose 2. Go to the market. There
will be a HUGE line of people waiting to try out the food.
1 - Line up
2 - Don't line up
Choose 1 if you want to move on in the game. Choose 2 if you like going around
in circles. After you line up, NANAMI!!! You'll be back at the castle. When you
meet Rune, she'll ask who Nanami is. You answer...
1 - Only a childhood friend
2 - Only a person I know
It doesn't matter what you choose. You'll be back at a hallway.
1 - Palace hall
2 - Guest room
3 - Research lab
4 - Dungeon
5 - Sanctuary
6 - Kitchen
7 - Palace yard
8 - Town square
The choices are the same as before. Go to the Kitchen. Nanami will be there, and
you'll be presented with some choices.
1 - Talk
2 - Leave the kitchen
3 - Add to party
Choose to add her to your party. You'll have to choose who to drop from your
party. Drop Fujisawa. Fujisawa's name is written with 2 kanji characters. The
last choice won't allow you to change party members.
Note for the Japanese impaired: Fujisawa's name is written with 2 characters
(letters), Nanami's name is written with 3 characters, Aleille's name is written
with 4 katakana characters and the third character is a single horizontal bar,
Miz's name is written with 3 characters and the second character is a horizontal
bar, Ishiel's name is written with 4 characters with no horizontal bars.
Notice: Whenever you visit the research lab without Nanami, Galus will be there.
With Nanami in your party, he'll NEVER be there. Go to the Palace Hall and talk
to Rune. She won't know who or where the Priestess of the Earth is. Leave.
Note: In the future, whenever you want to add Nanami to your party after
dropping her, go to the palace and go to the kitchen. If you want to add
Fujisawa after dropping him, he'll be at the guest room. To add Aleille, go to
the palace yard. To add Ishiel, go to the inn/bar in town. Keep in mind that you
won't be able to add Ishiel to your party at the beginning of the game.
Leave the town and go to the world map. Go to the water temple. 1 - Go inside, 2
- Leave. Go inside. Once you're inside, you can... 1 - Discuss the deal
concerning Afura, 2 - Don't disscuss. Choose 1. Miz won't provide you with any
answers, but she will give you a water ring. This item will be helpful later.
Back at the world map.
The goal now is to get Nanami to meet up with Galus. Whenever you have Nanami in
your party, Galus will not be in the lab with Dr. S. When you eventually get
Nanami to meet Galus, it will be in the Palace Hall. I tried to have her meet
Galus immediately after I managed to get her in my party, but it couldn't be
done. So, here's what I did... Try putting different combinations of party
characters and travel around El-Hazard. Have everyone meet everyone. Have Ishiel
meet Rune, Dr. S, the 3 priestesses, etc. Have Nanami meet everyone as well.
Later, put Fujisawa in your party and go to the water temple. As long as you
have Fujisawa in your party, you'll be able to add Miz (provided you don't drop
Fujisawa when you drop a member). Have Miz meet Rune, the other pristesses, etc.
Eventually, you'll run out of combinations and start running in circles. Now,
put Nanami and Aleille in your party. Go to the lab. Dr. S will be there, but
Galus won't. Talk to Dr. S several times, then leave. Immediately go to the
Palace Hall. There, you should meet up with Galus. With Nanami in your party,
his secret identity will be revealed.
After Galus' cover is blown, you'll be back in the hallway. Leave the castle and
go to the world map. Do NOT drop Nanami or Aleille in favor of other characters
before going to the world map. Go to the Fire temple. Go inside and talk to
Shayla. The Fire Maiden will bring some bad news. Jinnai and the Bugrom are
attacking a town nearby. Makoto will then rush to a nearby lake and toss the
water ring he received from Miz. The ring's power creates a flood that washes
Jinnai and the Bugrom away. Watch Shayla kick ass. After the fight is over,
Aleille will discover the crystal that belongs to Afura. When you're back at the
world map, immediately go to the wind temple. Once there, go inside. Afura will
take the crystal. She'll then give you a book which shows the location of
Ifrita's tomb.
Save spot - SD Fujisawa and Miz (If you didn't save your game on the
world map, now's a
good time to do so.)
----- Chapter 5 -----
You'll start at the wind temple. You'll now have the option to go to
Ifritaurita's tomb. DO
NOT GO THERE YET. Go back to Floristica. You now have some decisions to
make. You
need two types people to go to the tomb. They are: 1.) a fighter, and 2.)
a guide.
You can choose one of two fighters: Fujisawa or Ishiel. If you want
Ishiel, no problem. Go
to the inn and drop Nanami. If you want Fujisawa, go back to the palace.
You need to
sober him up, though. If you take him to the tomb as is, you'll be killed
since he'll be drunk.
When you add Fujisawa, you need to drop someone. Drop Aleille. Go to the
dungeon.
1 - Lock Fujisawa up, 2 - Don't even try it. Naturally, choose 1. After
you lock him up, Aleille
will join your party once again. Leave the dungeon, leave the palace, go
to the world map.
Go to the water temple (or fire; doesn't matter as long as it's not too
far away, like Arliman).
Going to some other location gives a few days for Fujisawa to sober up.
If you go some
place too far away while Fujisawa's in the dungeon, he'll sober up, bend
the bars and get out
on his own - to drink once more. At any rate, go to a temple (don't go to
the wind temple),
and don't bother to go in. Go back to Floristica and get unlock Fujisawa
from confinement.
He'll now be sober and ready to kick ass. (Drop Nanami from your party.)
Now you need a guide. If you go back to the palace and meet Rune, Aleille
will drop from
your party and Rune will become your guide (Aleille says that her
highness is more suited
for this particular mission). If you put Rune in your party, you won't be
able to change your
party members (this is why I wrote about choosing your fighter before
your guide). By
placing Rune in your party, you almost guarantee yourself Rune's ending.
If you want
Rune's ending when you beat the game, put her in your party. (Even if you
don't put her in
your party, you can still get her ending.) But before you do, make sure
you have a fighter
with you. You DON'T want a Makoto - Rune - Nanami or a Makoto - Aleille -
Nanami party,
unless you like looking at "game over" screens.
You now should have a party that looks like one of the following:
Makoto - Ishiel - Rune
Makoto - Ishiel - Aleille
Makoto - Fujisawa - Rune
Makoto - Fujisawa - Aleille
Go to the world map. Go to Ifrita's tomb. Jinnai will be there. It's revealed in
the dialogue that Jinnai had insects spy on Makoto and his activities from the
get-go. Makoto and his party is surrounded. If you don't have Ishiel in your
party, Makoto distracts Jinnai by saying, "Look! There's a Panda in a sumo apron
carrying a lightly salted salmon!" (Jinnai: Hey, Makoto! I don't see a Panda in
a sumo apron anywhere!) While Jinnai's distracted, Makoto and company will rush
into the tomb. If you have Ishiel in your party, she'll fight off the Bugrom
soldiers while you and your guide (Rune or Aeille) rush the tomb. Once inside
the tomb, a boulder will roll by if Ishiel was not in your party. If you have
Fujisawa and if you took the trouble to sober him up, he'll stop the boulder.
Otherwise, he'll be too drunk and you'll get killed. If you didn't bother to get
a fighter in your party, the boulder will finish you off and you'll have to load
or restart. Your fighter will be too busy squishing bugs to join you for the
rest of the trip in the tomb.
You'll eventually reach the inner areas of the tomb and Ifrita will be there.
Jinnai will interfere and take control of her staff. After he winds the staff in
her, she will start to move. When she awakens, you'll see a video of her and
Makoto. She'll think that Makoto is her new master and be happy about it
(because Maokoto seems like a nice guy). After the video clip, Makoto will be
embraced by Ifrita in a certain way (the lucky bastard). Jinnai will say, "What
are you doing?!? That guy isn't your master! That would be me!"
Ifrita: Really? But this one seems nicer and he's better looking.
Jinnai will then ask you to say that he's Ifrita's new master and not
you. You reply...
1 - Yeah, that's right (he's your master).
2 - Lie.
Doesn't matter... By choosing 2, Ifrita will acknowledge both you and Jinnai as
her master for the rest of the game. ^_^

----- Chapter 6 -----
Ifrita will take Jinnai away and have her blow away a city. Him and Diva will
later plan on crushing their Roshtarian enemies. You'll soon be back at D. S's
lab. Dr. S will then give you a device to touch. It'll activate. He'll then
explain to you that your power is the ability to synchronize with the ancient
El-Hazard civilization's machines. (OK, who reading this hasn't seen the OAVs?)
You'll then be summoned to embark on a new mission. Rune will decide to use The
Eye of God. In order to use it, the cooperation of the four priestesses will be
necessary. (Hey... where's the Priestess of Earth?!?) Your mission objectives
are to find the earth priestess, then convince all 4 priestesses to help Rune
activate The Eye of God.
You'll be at the world map. Go to the water temple. Go inside and 1 - talk, 2 -
leave. Talk to her. She won't agree to help you at first. Talk to her again.
When you do, there will be some noises outside. Jinnai will be there, planning
an attack on the temple. Jinnai will then tell Miz to get out of his way and
hand over the temple. He also makes the mistake of calling her an old maid.
Watch Miz kick ass. After the bugs are gone, she'll agree to help. You'll be
back at the world map. Go to the fire temple if you have Ishiel in your party.
If you don't have Ishiel in your party, go back to Floristica and go to the
inn/bar. Put Ishiel in your party. Leave town to go to the world map. Go to the
fire temple. Go inside, then talk to her. She'll refuse. As Makoto pleads with
her, she says that she'll cooperate if you can kick her butt. Ishiel will take
the fight to Shayla instead. As the fight goes, on, you'll have to decide...
1 - Shield Shayla
2 - Shield Ishiel
3 - I'm scared, so I'll just watch
It doesn't matter which you choose. 1 or 2 will get Makoto injured but no
big deal.
Shayla will agree to help. Ishiel (if you haven't guessed by now) is the
Priestess of Earth, and she'll agree to help with The Eye of God as well. On
your way to the world map, you'll encounter a dumb trap if you have Fujisawa in
your party. The trap has booze as bait (hence, the Fujisawa angle). Fujisawa
will get you out of the trap and get a hold of the booze. World map - go to the
wind temple.
Once at the temple, go inside. No one will be inside, but Makoto will notice
something as he steps out. He'll climb a mountain and try to convince Afura to
help activate the eye. She'll refuse. You'll be back at the world map. At this
point, no matter how many times you go back to the wind temple, Makoto won't be
able to muster up the confidence to convince Afura to help. Go back to
Floristica. Go to the palace and report to Rune in the palace hall. After this,
go to the kitchen. Add Nanami, drop Ishiel. Go back to the inn/bar. Londs will
be there, having a drink. After talking with him, leave. Go to the world map,
then off to the wind temple. Choose to go inside. Makoto will then say that he
doesn't have the ability to convince Afura to help him. Back to the world map.
Back to Floristica. Go inside the palace, then to the guest room. Fujisawa will
call it a night. After this, you'll have a conversation with Rune. This
conversation will give you the ability to convince Afura to help. Once you're
able to, go to the wind tample. Once you talk to Afura, she'll agreee to help.
Go back to Floristica and the palace. Go to the palace hall. Your "convincing"
mission is done.

Although the above will get you to the next chapter, it means absolutely nothing
if you want Ifrita's ending. In order to meet Ifrita, you need to go to The Hill
of Holy Stones. Once there, you'll be given the option to feed her some
information.
1 -
2 -
(I can't remember which was which... I'm doing this by memory. I'll
include this in my next NAQ
update.)
It's possible to get Ifrita's ending without somehow getting rid of the necklace
Rune gave you because you're not transported back to earth with her ending. The
necklace should play no part. The idea is to be as "nice" as possible so you can
get her ending. More on this later when I figure out how to get Ifrita's (and
Nanami's) ending(s).
After you talk to Ifrita, Ishiel will be at the site if she's not in your
party.
Try visiting the Spring of Arliman if you can spare the time. You may get
to see some video clips.
----- Chapter 7 -----
The Bugrom will be on the attack.
As the country prepares for battle, you'll be in the guest room with
Rune. About the amulet...
1 - I was surprised (when I got it)
2 - I was happy
Your choice.
In the morning, you'll be asked to go to the eye. You can get there using
Makoto's power to activate the device in the sanctuary. Once you're in the eye,
you'll be confronted by Phantom Tribe soldiers. Rune will be a captive, Galus
will be there, and... Ishiel. It's revealed that Ishiel has been working with
Galus and the Phantom Tribe because... she is a member of the tribe. She's 1/2
PT and did not have blue skin. Even Nanami didn't suspect anything. Ishiel's
mission was to help Makoto in any way she can and to use him to achieve the PT's
goals.
With Rune in the eye, Galus can activate the eye... and destroy El-Hazard (if
you don't know why he wants to destroy it, buy copies of the OAV tapes). Ishiel
first believed that the eye would only be used so that the PT can return to
their homeland. Galus intends to do that, but not before destroying El-Hazard.
Ishiel then turns on Galus and misses.

----- Chapter 8 -----
Ishiel fell through a big hole in the eye and Afura catches her. She and the
rest of the Roshtarians will be back at the palace.
1 - Listen to what everyone has to say
It's the only choice for now. After that, you'll get to listen to the
opinions of these people...
1 - Fujisawa
2 - Nanami
3 - Aleille
4 - Miz
5 - Shayla
6 - Afura
7 - Londs
8 - Dr. S
Press and hold down the L button to skip through the opinons. After that, you'll
be presented with two choices:
1 - Forgive Ishiel
2 - Don't forgive her
If you forgive her, you'll get to choose: 1 - Forgive her despite her sins, 2 -
Well... Choose 1 both times. Choosing 2 will land her in the dungeon.
By forgiving Ishiel, she'll join the other priestesses in the battle against the
attacking Bugrom. If she ends up in the dungeon, you'll immediately be off to
the eye of God, where you'll be killed by Galus.
In the battle with the Bugrom, Ifrita will get pissed off. After this, you'll
confront Galus. Galus is about to finish Makoto off but Jinnai enters the "who
will rule El-Hazard" contest. Jinnai attempts to throw a dynamire(?) at some
devices, but is knocked out cold by Nanami. Galus then drops Rune into a pit.
The machinery in the eye is going ballistic. Makoto attempts to synchronize with
the devices and... he's back at the Shinonome High School lab.
